Psychotherapeutic Services

Psychological assessments and interventions are routinely based on one hour appointments and charged accordingly.  Prices are available on enquiry.  Occasionally, it may be more appropriate to agree shorter or longer appointments and an alternative fee structure can be agreed on this basis.

There are additional charges for letters, emails or telephone calls exceeding 15 mins, and travel.

Appointments are offered in the offices of Highland Psychology Services at 2 Culduthel Road, Inverness.  Home visits may be offered where appropriate, but all first appointments are office-based.

Any missed appointments, or cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment time, incur the full cost of an appointment.

Payment is received when you attend.  Presently, there is no facility for card payments but cash and cheques are accepted.

Expert Witness Reports

Instructions for expert witness reports are only accepted from a Solicitor.  Reading documentation, direct assessment and writing reports are all charged per hour, or part thereof.  The fees for travel time should be discussed in advance as they will be dependent on various circumstances.  When possible, travel will be undertaken by train, and expenses are based on a first class ticket, but there is no additional charge for time spent travelling.  Where overnight accommodation is required the cost of expenses will be discussed in advance.

Fees for court are charged per half day or part thereof.  Where there is additional travel time and overnight accommodation, fees and expenses will be discussed in advance.  There is a sliding scale applied for cancellation in the four days preceding the court date.

Estimates for completed reports are agreed in advance of instructions being received.  Payment is due within 4 weeks of the report being sent to the instructing solicitor.
